• Violent rapids that are unpredictable and that have obstructions are for expert whitewater enthusiasts only. Equipment for this run needs to be of the highest quality in order for safe passage. • The highest level of skill is needed for what is called unrunnable rapids. These carry a high risk of death and often rafts and equipment are destroyed.

Anyone that has the desire can go whitewater rafting, as long as they are in good physical condition. Kids as young as twelve and seniors as old as eighty often take part in rafting adventures.
When to go Whitewater Rafting
Rafting season begins in March in most areas and lasts until the end of October. If you’re a beginner, June, July and August offer the best opportunities because water levels are moderate. The Ocoee River is dam controlled and provides an incredible whitewater experience.
