Furthermore, an Event Center capable of hosting up to 500 guests for private or corporate functions will be added. Additional features include an indoor fly fishing school, a gun range, a museum focusing on the Strawberry Reservoir’s history, and a wrap-around balcony offering breathtaking views of the lake. To improve convenience, the parking lot will be remodeled, providing extra spots and boat slips. Lastly, in 2017, the boat storage facilities will be rebuilt with covered and temperature-controlled buildings, complete with valet service.
Fishing Regulations
Strawberry Reservoir has specific fishing regulations in place to preserve its natural ecosystem and ensure a sustainable fishing experience. Anglers are allowed a combined total of four trout or kokanee salmon, with limitations on cutthroat trout under 15 inches and over 22 inches. All cutthroat trout between 15 and 22 inches must be released immediately. Moreover, filleting fish in the field or during transit is prohibited. It’s vital to note that the DWR emphasizes the voluntary release of all cutthroat trout. To differentiate between Bear Lake cutthroat trout and rainbow trout, characteristics such as deep orange pelvic and anal fins on cutthroats and white-tipped pink to grey-green pelvic and anal fins on rainbows are more reliable indicators than jaw slashing or slash marks. Additionally, certain tributaries and areas are closed to fishing throughout the year, so it’s essential to review the regulations before planning your fishing trip.
