WATAUGA RIVER RAFTING – TENNESSEE
If you are rafting on the Watauga River you will be coming to Elizabethton, TN. All Boone and Banner Elk North Carolina Outfitters raft here in Carter County TN.
All the outfitters start at the same location (Wilbur Dam) but the take-out location is different for each one.
Customers meet at our shop 1409 Broad Street, 37643 where you can purchase tee shirts, water shoes, sunglasses, etc., also you will sign a liability waiver, get fitted for a PFD (life jacket), and receive a safety talk at our deck. After you have all your gear you will load up in our vehicle and be driven to the put In which is approximately 10 minutes away. We will unload the rafts and start down Watauga River Rafting at Wilbur Dam, we will paddle class I & II whitewater along the way and make a short stop at our other river property where you can tree swing or slide in the water, or sit and stretch your legs while enjoying a snack and water for a few minutes. Then we paddle the final 1.5 miles back to our shop where you parked your car where we finish the Classic Rafting Trip.
Watauga Kayak takes out at our shop which is 6 miles below Wilbur Dam, others will take out earlier.

All rafting trips from the Dam to our Shop are approximately 2.0 -2.5 hours no matter who you raft with.
The extra time if you book 1/2 day adventures from other outfitters is lunch and travel time from North Carolina.
Watauga River is a class I & II whitewater river great for families and first-timers, even the youngest can raft on Watauga River.
