Horseshoe Bend To Glen Canyon Dam Rafting
The itinerary for the Horseshoe Bend rafting tour starts with your check in at the River Headquarters in Page prior to departure. Then, you are transported in a bus through a two mile tunnel that exits at the base of Glen Canyon Dam. After we pass the tunnel and the total 15 miles of the ride, you hop in the river raft with sandstone walls standing 700 feet above you.
As you step in the 32-foot raft and start your Horseshoe Bend half day raft trip, you will sit back and relax, listening to the stories of the Colorado River in Glen Canyon, learn about the human history of the region and even make a beach stop at the Petroglyph beach, where you can take a short hike to a petroglyph panel (the petroglyph area is fascinating). You can also take a quick dip in the river on Petroglyph beach before continuing your trip.
Once you are back in the raft, the wilderness river adventures will continue with a trip through the iconic Horseshoe Bend. Here, you can look for rainbow trout in the clear waters, watch the birds in the great blue nesting on the banks, and possibly hear the big horn sheep. The end of the half day rafting trip is at the historic Lees Ferry, where you go back to the bus for the ride back to River Headquarters. Lees Ferry is located at 32 miles from Page, Arizona, via Highway 89 South and Highway 89A west. The best way to book your rafting trip is by contacting us a couple of weeks prior to departure and going to our river headquarters where we can explain more about our trips Glen Canyon and more activities you can take along the way.
The half day rafting trip lasts for 6 hours, and typically starts in the morning around 9am and ends around 3pm. The departure and arrival hours are standard in the schedule.
