Guided Kayaking Tour Of Flaming Gorge
Hobie Cat Pedal Kayaks
Enjoy a Flaming Gorge Lake Pedal Kayak Tour Hosted By Dutch John Resort Tours. Your guided tour in a Hobie Cat Kayak is fun for the young & old alike. Why paddle when you can pedal. Yes, this is a kayak that you peddle, you do not paddle. With your hands totally free you can have the time of your life and take pictures of your experience.
This tour starts by pedaling your Kayak From The Dock taking you right in front of the Dam with a special permit provided by the Ashley Nation Forest to Dutch John Resort.
The Bureau of Reclamation also allows a special permit to Dutch John Resort to launch for the Kayak Tour at the Dam of Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
After enjoying the fun of the Dam and touring in front of the dam, you will go around the island in the middle of the bay, then go to the famous Cart Creek Bridge.
You will get amazing pictures and have an opportunity to explore the stunning Cart Creek Canyon while going under the bridge that crosses Flaming Gorge Reservoir. This tour will take 3 hours to complete.

Single kayaks are available for all participants that are 16 years old or older. Children ages 12 – 15 must ride with an adult in a Double Kayak.

This tour is available on both the A and B sections of the Green River, below the Dam at Flaming Gorge Reservoir in the Ashley National Forest.
This tour is both relaxing and exciting. The fresh air and the peacefulness of the river, the beauty and scenery will leave you in awe.
Your guide will maneuver the raft through the rapids and down the river as you enjoy each experience around every corner and enjoy the beauty of this gorgeous river.
The photo opportunities, the rivers abundant wildlife, and the thousands of fish you get to see will make this experience at the top of your list.
After you Check in at the Activities Reservations desk, your tour guide will meet you at the Raft section of the Resort 15 minutes before departure.
Here you will be fitted with your life jacket and shown your tour van that you can wait by or in. Your tour will take 4 – 6 hours from start to finish.
This tour is dependent upon the flow rate of the river, that is controlled by Bureau of Reclamation.

Guided Electric Assist Mountain Biking Tour This is a Scenic Adventure. Difficulty Level is 3. This is a 2 – 3 hour guided group tour that will take you along the rim of the massive canyon above the Green River.
You will get to stop and explore the Famous Green River Overlook for a great breath-taking experience.

Then you will get to test your Mountain Biking skills as you journey across the canyon and town of Dutch John to a view area of Dutch John, Utah.
From there you will go to the base of Goslin Mountain for view of the scenery and another view area and then back to the resort.
After you Check in at the Activities Reservations desk, your tour guide will meet you at the E-Bike Tour Garage at Dutch John Resort 15 minutes before departure.
Your tour will take 3 hours from start to finish and includes:
- E-bike instructions (1) bottled water
- (1) Electric Assist Mountain Bike

Full day Scenic Van Tour #1 Beyond The Dam
Explore the Flaming Gorge Area with a guide in our tour van. This tour will start with a stop at Flaming Gorge Dam where you will learn about the Dam and the benefits of it.
The next stop will be the historic Swett Ranch that was built by pioneers in the 1800’s.
We will then go to the breath-taking Sheep Creek Geological loop where you will see views that are no other and nowhere else in the world. We will be stopping in this section of the tour for lunch, that will be provided.
The lunch includes:
- Sandwich (Your choice of meat)
- Chips
- Potato or Macaroni Salad
- Apple
- Bottled Water
After lunch we will go to the Ute Fire Tower, those that want to climb the tower will be able to. We will then go to Dowd Mountain and see Flaming Gorge Reservoir views.
This is some of the best beauty of this whole area. Our next stop will be to Red Canyon overlook.
This will be at the end of the tour and those that want to walk the trial will be able to for additional adventure and sites.

Full day Scenic Van Tour #2 Outlaw Country
This tour will be provided by a guide in a tour van provided by the resort.
This tour will go to the Browns Park area with an emphasis on outlaw country & the Old West.
You will get to see some of Butch Cassidy’s hideouts, where he bought supplies and traded back in the day.
You will see breath taking views and go across a bridge that swings over the top of the Green River.
The Famous Swinging Bridge where Trappers & Native Americans would meet to buy, sell & trade everything from animal skins, guns, black powder, knives, clothing, hats and food supplies. This is the famous Green River Rendezvous!
Then you will go to Vermillion Falls to see this beautiful setting. On this tour lunch is provided. The lunch includes:

- Potato or Macaroni Salad

There will be a chance of seeing wildlife, waterfowl, and Osprey.
We will go over the Taylor Flat Bridge and visit the old Jarvie Ranch.
