Why are we drawn to the water?

A world without water is difficult to imagine because we would not be here to imagine it. Water is essential to our very existence. It hydrates, cleanses, purifies, calms and invigorates. You can swim in it, soak in it, float in it and even play in it.

It’s no wonder that water has so many positive connotations for us. It is our first known comfort zone: a 98.6 degree immersion for the first 9 months of our lives. Our liquid home was the most protective environment that we will ever know and we will always strive to have that feeling time and time again. Our affinity for water is an inborn instinct.

For each of us in our own way, water is also our special escape from it all. Some of us find serenity sitting on a sandy beach, watching the waves roll in, feeling connected to a timeless cycle of nature. Others find connection by sailing as wind and water combine forces to satisfy our desires. Our oasis is exploring the endless miles of waterways that we have in our little state. Slicing through the mist in the early rays of light is my clearest path to nirvana.
