What the heck is a Corcl!?
A Corcl is a small round boat that is a ton of fun! The name is a play on the word ‘coracle’. The English, the Welsh and the Scottish all call their similarly-shaped boat, a coracle. Maybe, we’re over-reaching, but the British Empire ruled much of the world, in recent history, which is why so many people in disparate lands speak English…Thus, they own a fair amount of vocabulary, including ours. Also, ‘corcl’ is more hip, and frankly, it’s fun to say. Corcl. Corcl. Corcl. Come on, that’s fun.
Is this boat for EVERYONE?
While we would most decidedly say “Yes!”, we also understand that this is NOT for everyone. A Corcl is the Smart Car of the small boat world. Figuring out how to go straight forward with one paddle on a tippy craft is going to take some patience and training. Can anyone with patience or an abundance of optimism learn to do this? Yes, just watch our How-To videos and practice. You can always sit and paddle! Also, this boat is for flat water- lakes, bays and slow moving rivers in low wind situations. While people around the world have been using these boats in the aforementioned manner for centuries, literally over 2000 years and counting, this is a brand new experience for Americans but one that we are positive the younger crowd is going to go nuts for. Our new shop in Wakefield will have these crazy boats for sale and both locations will have them in their rental fleets.
